Alicia Barco has more than 20 years of IT experience, and is currently VP of Enterprise Data Management at Workers Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of CA, leads an IT organization that is responsible for data governance strategy, business intelligence, data warehouse, analytics, metadata management and heavily involved in enterprise architecture and various levels of IT governance.
Alicia’s leadership track record spans across management consulting, non-profit and for-profit companies. Most recently she’s led WCIRB’s multi-year IT transformation that built WCIRB’s enterprise data management organizational structure, developed data management strategy and execution roadmap, implemented a fully virtualized data warehouse and business intelligence architecture and installed an enterprise-wide data governance program. This strategy’s success has enabled business growth, improved customer offerings and capabilities, and empowered operational efficiencies by lowered costs, self-service features and time to market.
Alicia also possesses deep knowledge of workers compensation insurance business and technology strategies, and is currently leading WCIRB’s effort to expand its data analytics offerings to its external customers in CA.
Alicia holds a Master’s Degree in Medical Informatics from Northwestern University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Manila.
